Popcorn Sellers Recognition Event

Congratulations to the Scouts who sold at least $1,000 in this year's popcorn sale and made it into the Seller’s Club Movie Event!

Because of your efforts, you and one adult are invited to a special Scouting showing of Encanto on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021.

The movie showing will be held at AMC Theatre in Findlay (906 Interstate Dr.). Check-in will begin at 11:15 a.m. with the movie beginning at Noon. Only Scouts who qualitied by selling popcorn this year are eligible for the movie. Scouts will receive a voucher for a Movie Snack Pack at the Concession Stand, which will be open for additional purchases directly from the theater.

Scouts must RSVP no later than December 9 by registering online below. Late registrations will not be accepted. Once you register, you will receive an email confirmation, please be sure to print out the email and bring it with you to the event. This is what will gain you admission to the theater. Be sure to click the "COMPELTE ORDER" button to finalize registration! 

Additional tickets will not be available for purchase. Every youth is required to have an adult or guardian attend for their supervision.

For parents, here’s a brief look at the movie Encanto (Rated PG), according to Common Sense Media. The website rates movie for Age 6+, with vibrant visuals, catchy songs & moving messages. Click here for more details on the movie. Here’s an overview:

Parents need to know that Encanto is an animated Disney musical set in Colombia about Mirabel Madrigal (voiced by Stephanie Beatriz), the youngest granddaughter in a family that protects their enchanted village with the magical powers they've had for two generations ... except for Mirabel. As she helps her cousin prepare for his coming-of-magical-age ritual, she begins to question her role in the family. Expect a few scenes of violence: Mirabel's grandfather is killed by armed men (the actual death isn't shown), and supernatural events and catastrophes threaten the characters. There's also mild name-calling and affection between married characters. Themes of empathy, teamwork, and courage are clear, and there's strong diverse representation on screen, with White, Black, and multi-racial characters all part of the same family and voiced by famous Colombian and Latin American actors. Colombian culture is also well portrayed in the form of music, costumes, dance sequences, and even food, but the filmmaking team, including songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda, isn't of Colombian heritage.

The movie has a 99 minute running time.
