The Boy Scouts of America, Black Swamp Area Council is a proud partner of the United Way of Hancock County. To help the United Way of Hancock County and other community leaders understand the issues facing our community, Community Conversations are being held this summer. By gathering small groups of people who represent various factions of the community, the United Way can facilitate conversations that allow individuals to share their thoughts on where our community is and where it should be heading.
These conversations are “kitchen table” style, meaning they are informal and encourage an openness to all opinions. Participants are welcome to offer their personal experiences and concerns, conveying both the challenges they face and the aspirations they hold. The United Way of Hancock County or Community Foundation staff members may attend these conversations. However, their role is to observe or possibly facilitate and gather information; not to actually participate in the conversation. The conversation is a way for the United Way of Hancock County to gain insight into the state of the community. The information will be aggregated later and published for community access.
