Sweet Traditions and American Heritage Inspire New 2026 National Jamboree Patches
The Erie Shores Council and Black Swamp Area Council have unveiled two distinctive collectible shoulder patches for the 2026 National Jamboree, giving Scouts and collectors a unique opportunity to celebrate both local heritage and America's 250th anniversary.
The first design, the "250 America" JSP, commemorates the nation's semi-quincentennial with a stunning embroidered scene featuring a lighthouse, sailboat, canoeing adventure, wildlife, and a vibrant American sunset. Centered around the official "250 America" theme, the patch reflects the spirit of exploration, service, and outdoor adventure that Scouting has promoted for generations.
The second design takes a sweeter approach to Jamboree patch collecting. The "Dum Dums" JSP pays tribute to one of Ohio's most recognizable candy brands with a colorful landscape of oversized lollipops surrounding a campfire under a star-filled sky. The playful design combines Scouting traditions with a nod to regional pride, creating what is expected to be a highly sought-after patch among traders at the National Jamboree.
Both patches feature the names of Erie Shores Council and Black Swamp Area Council, representing the partnership between the neighboring councils as they prepare to send Scouts to one of the largest Scouting events in the country.
