ODNR hosting Scouting America for the weekend celebration in May 2026

COLUMBUS, Ohio – As part of the America 250 Ohio celebration, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) is welcoming Scouting America to host a weekend filled with outdoor fun, focusing on conservation! The Heart of it All Jamboree will take place at Salt Fork State Park during the first weekend in May 2026.

This event will coincide with the United States semiquincentennial celebration, honoring the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

All Heart of it All Jamboree activities, such as hiking, paddling, fishing, archery and more will be updated online at the Heart of it All Jamboree webpage.

“We invite scouts from across the state and beyond to celebrate conservation with us at the Heart of it All Jamboree, and it will truly be a weekend to remember,” said ODNR Director Mary Mertz. “Celebrating America 250 will be at the core of what we do next year, and this is one way for us to inspire young conservationists to protect and care for Ohio’s natural resources.”

Scouts and their families can register by visiting ohiodnr.gov and pick from two pass options; a day pass for $15, or a two-day pass for $30, which includes overnight camping, above ground fire allowed. Those who opt for the overnight pass will camp in tents at the beach area. Tents and equipment will not be provided.

Parents can learn more about the jamboree and registration online. If there are any specific questions, you can reach out to jamboree@dnr.ohio.gov.

ODNR ensures a balance between wise use and protection of our natural resources for the benefit of all. Visit the ODNR website at ohiodnr.gov.
