Scouts invited to attend regional celebration

On October 11th at 1 p.m. at the Applefest Oak Harbor Ohio, Roger Carpenter will be presented a flag that flew over the U.S. Capital to be raised at the festival in his honor of 75 years a Scoutmaster of Troop 316 in Oak Harbor.

This event should be a major PR for the Scouting and Scouts from Ohio are invited to participate in uniform.  The Scouting group will have a spot reserved in the grand parade that will follow his ceremony, and Scouts, Troops and Packs are asked to participate and each bring their unit and/or council flags.

This is a once in lifetime opportunity for Scouting in and around not just Erie Shores Council, but Scouting across the region to show off a HUGE Milestone.

Mr. Carpenter earned his Eagle Scout at the age of 16 in 1944.
