National Service Territory 9 Advancement Symposium
February 19, 2022
First Lutheran Church, 109 E. Lincoln Street, Findlay Ohio
Success in Scouting is measured in many ways; the number of units, unit size and program offerings. The real measure of how Scouting is successful is through Advancement and assisting our youth to achieve and grow. The function and purpose of our council and district Advancement committees is to promote and lead quality Advancement support to youth.
If you agree with this, this conference is for you!
The National Service Territory 9 is presenting this symposium for all Advancement leadership in your council and district. Topics of the day (presented to all in a round robin format) are:
- Council Advancement Committee operations and responsibilities
- Making the Professional part of your Advancement team
- Cub Scout Advancement best practices
- Changes to the Guide to Advancement and how to implement them.
A special feature will be a lunchtime presentation by Jacob Fetzler of the National Council’s
ScoutBook Advisory Team. The afternoon will feature a “problem solving” discussion using the whole group in teams. The Scout Shop will have a trading post and door prizes. It promises to be a fun and informational day!
A block of rooms has been set aside at the Hancock Hotel next to the church. A rate of $99.00 per night is available. Go to: www.hancockhotel.com; under more options, use the code “202102SCOUT”. Must book by January 19. Parking is permitted at the church on Friday night.
The 2022 NST9 Advancement Symposium opens at 8:00 am with check-in and the opening ceremony is at 8:45. Cost for this event is $25.00 per person. Pre-registration is required and appreciated. Use the link below to register.
