Dear Black Swamp Area Council Unit Leaders,

We have recently made some changes to our Advancement recording process.  In the past, we have entered advancements through ScoutNet from advancement forms submitted to the Council Service Centers. When entering them through ScoutNet, this would sync over to your Unit’s Scoutbook and show that Council has made changes .  We are now switching over to using the Internet Advancement tool in Scoutbook to enter any advancements submitted to the Service Centers.  When entering the advancements this way, it will show the individual’s name who made those changes.  So you will see a first and last name of a council employee .  There are two individuals who typically enter advancements for units and those names to look for are:

  • Mackenzie McMaster
  • Nancy Rex

When you see these names, they show that a council employee has gone  in and made changes or updates.  If you have questions or concerns about an advancement or believe there was an error, please contact your District Advancement chair and the information will be verified with our records to ensure all Scouts records are being kept up to date.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding the new process, please feel free to reach out to Mackenzie via email or (567) 208-5312.
