YPT-2 In-person Trainings Being Offered at Camp Berry

Do you still need to take the new Youth Protection Training?

There will be 3 opportunities to take YPT-2 in person at Camp Berry in the upcoming weeks. These trainings will be held in Donnell Lodge at Camp Berry and anyone can attend. There is no cost to attend. The dates for the trainings are as follows:

• Tuesday, July 3 at 7PM
• Tuesday, July 10 at 7PM
• Tuesday, July 17 at 7PM

Rocket Into Scouting Membership Champions Needed

Can you believe it’s already July? This year’s Rocket Into Scouting night is September 6th across all of Northwest Ohio. We are collaborating with Erie Shores Council to help better maximize marketing and awareness for families to come out and join Scouting. How can your unit prepare? Start by identifying your unit's membership champion for this year. We will be having our membership kickoff at roundtable on August 9th and August 14th. Membership Champions help participate in school open house nights, help market Scouting in your community and school, attend the September 6th kickoff, follow up with families, and promote Scouting. Please submit your membership champion contact information to your District Executive. This is one of the most fun and important roles to help grow Scouting in your unit!

• Chinquapin: St. Paul United Methodist Church, 400 Wayne Ave, Defiance, OH

Online registration and Be A Scout Unit Pin Management

Make sure your Be A Scout pin is updated! Packs that choose to incorporate girls into their packs in the fall should first have their charter organization representative login and make the appropriate selections. Then the unit leader/committee chair can finish the job! Any youth registration applications that are completed online can be approved by the unit's committee chair, charter organization representative or cubmaster/scoutmaster. Applications can be approved at http://my.scouting.org. 

SCOUT ME IN and serving today’s families

Charter organizations have been visited and many units will be serving the whole family this fall. 'Scout Me In' will be the membership marketing campaign for this year’s recruitment. There are some great resources to help aid your unit's recruitment efforts. Please check out https://www.scouting.org/familyscouting/ for some excellent marketing materials. Here you will find anything from social media posts, flyers, stickers, videos and more! It’s a must see!
