Lions Program

Units: Be sure to have your identified Lion Guide attend May's Roundtable for training.

Cub Scout Packs – The Lions program is coming to kindergartens this fall. Key unit leaders have received the Lion overview in the mail in March. Packs need to evaluate and decide if the unit is going to participate in Lions Program this fall. Units participating in the Lions program will need to recruit their Lions Guide and have them attend May’s roundtable for Lion Guide training. A Lion Guide is a registered position within the Pack. Volunteers cannot dual role positions (current cubmaster, den leader, or committee member cannot dual role in this position).

Download the Lions Program Overview here.

THE EXTENDED FORECAST

BSA Safety Moment

Family Camping

There are two appropriate camping experiences for Cub Scouts: family camping, organized by the council, and pack overnighters. Family camping, along with resident camping, is another timeless outdoor experience that involves Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, or Venturing program elements in an overnight setting. It requires that two or more family members attend, including at least one BSA member, to count as family camping. Youth Protection policies still apply, but of course parents are responsible for the supervision of their children...[Read more]
