So what’s an NMC?
NMC stands for “New Member Coordinator” and every Scout unit should have one! The focus of a New Member Coordinator is to build relationships with new families joining their Scout unit.
The key to growing your unit is forming Welcoming Relationships. Families who feel Welcomed are 75% more likely to Stay. This staying power also increases likelihood of engaging parents as volunteers.
Serving as an NCM gives you a seat on the District Membership Team allowing feedback and collaboration, but never requires you to serve more than just your unit. A unit can have multiple NMC positions depending on the needs and how many families are recruited each year.
