FALL KICKOFF – GREAT OAKS DISTRICT

The annual Fall Program Kickoff is AUG. 10, from 6-8 p.m., at the Lima Scout Office, 752 W. Robb Ave., Lima, OH 45801. We’ll begin in the pavilion behind the Scout office.

This is the ONE meeting every unit should attend.

Key information on the Popcorn sale and Membership “Rocket Into Scouting” recruiting effort for all levels of Scouting. Additionally, for Pack’s needing Lion Guide training, this will be offered following the membership breakout. Each unit is asked to have a representative at the two breakout sessions, which take place at the same time. There’s bonus commissioner in the popcorn sale for units with two representatives.

The evening begins at approximately 6 p.m. with food and fellowship, followed by the two breakout sessions (begin appx. 6:45-7 pm). Unit leaders are welcome to bring a side dish to share. District Committee members are asked to bring a dessert. Hamburgers and hotdogs as well as sweet corn have been on past menus.

The Lima Scout Shop will be open this evening until 6:30 p.m. If you know of a purchase, please call Nancy ahead of time, so she can have it prepared for you at (419) 221-2107.

For units wishing to have fliers to handout at upcoming Meet The Teacher Nights or School Open Houses, please contact Jim before Aug. 1, to arrange information to be printed on fliers. These fliers can be ready at the Aug. 10 kickoff.

• GREAT OAKS FALL CAMPOREE: The camporee is set for Oct. 13-15, at Camp Berry. Additional details will be posted in the coming dates on the district webpage at www.blackswampbsa.org/3504.
• Doug Ditto will be on hand to discuss 2018 Friends of Scouting dates with units, so please have your unit calendar.
