It's summer time, and in the Scouting world, that means camp! Our two excellent Boy Scout camps, Lakota in Defiance and Berry in Findlay, are excited for all of our troops this summer, and we have several fantastic opportunities for Cub Scout camping, including Resident camp at both Berry and Lakota, Mom & Me, Dad & Lad, Parent & Pal, and other district day camps! For more information, check out "Upcoming Events" at blackswampbsa.org.

Speaking of Cub Scout camping opportunities, earlier this month, we hosted our district day camp at the Mercer County Fairgrounds in Celina, and it was a blast! 112 Scouts and other youths participated in a myriad of activities to improve their Scouting skills and have fun! The rain certainly didn't keep us down.

If you know someone who needs to get their new Youth Protection training done and wishes to do an in-person session, we'll be hosting these sessions at camp! Please check this Tom James at tom.james@scouting.org for details. Note: all registered adults will need to complete the new and improved YPT by the end of September, and is most easily done online at my.scouting.org.

For those Cub Scouters that need their outdoor training, we're hosting a BALOO session August 3-4 at Camp Lakota in Defiance. Please contact Tammy Speer at bsactraining@gmail.com for more information.

The Old Sycamore Fall Camporee will be at the Armstrong Air & Space Museum in Wapak, September 14-16, and Space Exploration merit badge will be offered there! The camporee is open to scouts from all over the Council! You can register at: www.blackswampbsa.org/event/old-sycamore-space-exploration-camporee/2310803

If you're not attending our Fall Camporee, Wood Badge is the same weekend of September 14-16 at Camp Berry! Wood Badge is an excellent leadership training program for adults in Scouting. You can learn more from our district Training Chair, Jody Taylor, at jodytaylor449@gmail.com.

Fall is coming. With Fall's arrival, we also have recruitment and popcorn! If you'd like to set up recruitment plans early, please contact your District Executive, Brian Botti, at brian.botti@scouting.org or at (567) 259-6201, and if you have questions about popcorn, please contact Jim Mason at jim.mason@scouting.org.

Lastly but certainly not least, our Murder Mystery Fundraiser is back! We'll be running it in conjunction with the Great Oaks district on August 4th at the FOP Hall (across the parking lot from the Scout Shop) in Lima! Please note, this is an adults only event with the ultimate aim of giving back to Scouting in our community. If you have any questions on the Murder Mystery, please contact Brian Botti at brian.botti@scouting.org or at (567) 259-6201. Check back soon for more details!

As always, we're here to serve Scouting in Auglaize, Mercer, and Van Wert counties. If you have any Scouting-related questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me at brian.botti@scouting.org or at (567) 259-6201. Have a fantastic summer!
