Membership and Popcorn Kickoff

Each unit needs at least two (2) representatives to attend the two break-out sessions that take place at the same time. Information will be shared about this Fall's annual Popcorn Sale and this Fall's Join Scouting Recruiting campaign. An added percentage bonus of popcorn sale is incentive to having a unit leader at each breakout.

At the Membership session, we’ll be discussing the game-plan for Fall recruiting, the returning popular “Rocket Into Scouting” theme, distributing model rocket kits, and prepared fliers. Join Scouting night on Sept. 14 which allows for extra promotional opportunities as we coordinate the council’s recruitment effort.

 

 

Each unit is asked to help provide the following or actively be involved in the following:

  • By Aug. 1, you are asked to do the following:
    • Commit, if you haven’t already, to participating in the Fall membership campaign; just e-mail or call your District Executive.
    • Fillout the attached form “2017 Flier Request Form” and to your District Executive. Be sure to provide your Unit Membership Champion’s name and contact info on form.  Find the "2017 Flier Request Form" here!

 

  • Have a Unit Membership Champion, who can assist in the effort of recruiting. Items include: Helping with Boy Talks when available, flyer distributions, yard signs, Join Scouting night coordination, and be at you school district’s Open House/Parent’s Night/Meet the Teacher Night.
  • Have unit representative and display at your School’s Open House/Parent’s Night/Meet the Teacher Night. This is a great opportunity to be in front of the parents of your future Scouts. So you know, units which participated in their Open House nights saw an increase in youth and parent involvement. Contact your District Executive to have flyers printed for this opportunity and be able to deliver them to you at the Aug. 10 kickoff.

 

For units wishing to have fliers to handout at upcoming Meet The Teacher Nights or School Open Houses, please contact your district executive before Aug. 1, to arrange information to be printed on fliers. These fliers can be ready at the Aug. 10 kickoff.
