In 2024, Scouting America™ added disc golf as an alternative method for Scouts to earn the Golf Merit Badge. The Scouts seek your help to raise the funds for a course at their camp in Mississippi to earn this merit badge!

Disc golf is one of the fastest growing outdoor activities in the country and encourages youth to learn a lifetime sport that challenges individuals both physically and mentally. Like traditional golf, players try to complete the course using discs in as few throws, or strokes, as possible.

Through a generous offer from the Educational Disc Golf Experience (EDGE), the Council has been provided with an opportunity to purchase (at a significant discount) the targets, supplies and curriculum for a nine-hole course. Now, we need your help in turning this opportunity into a course that can be used not only by Scouts but also by other youth and adults who visit the camp.

For a $500 donation, any business, group, troop, pack, or individual may sponsor a hole with recognition on course signage for years to come. The Council would like to install nine targets and a practice target at a cost of approximately $500 per target. Please consider helping with this great opportunity! The course has been designed and will be installed by volunteers. So, any donation in any amount will help obtain the equipment and supplies needed for this installation.
