Adventure - Leadership - Learning - Service

Giving Tuesday is Nov. 28

Investing in the Boy Scouts of America creates opportunities for Scouts to gain memorable experiences and be instilled with values, principles, and skills that will help them develop into the future leaders of our nation. By contributing to Scouting, you will have a profound impact on America. More youth will experience the program that will further instill values and character in their moral fiber.

What Is #GivingTuesday?

#GivingTuesday on Nov. 28 is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Observed on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving in the U.S., and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

Help with a Collaborative Effort in 2018

This year, The Findlay Hancock County Community Foundation is partnering with the Boy Scouts in our #GivingTuesday campaign. The first $500 raised on Nov. 28 will be matched by the foundation. Overall, Black Swamp Area Council has a goal of $2,500 for the day. Please help us grow Scouting!

How Your Support Helps Scouting

Support provided to Black Swamp Area Council is used for programing resources to ensure a continued nationally accredited learning experience for our Scouts in our communities. Areas of focus include: scholarships, program supplies for youth activities, volunteer training, and camp and service center maintenance. Additionally, Black Swamp Areas Council provides local Scout groups with program materials, resources and support of the Scouting program.

Your support will help begin our 2018 Friends of Scouting campaign. As a "thank you" for supporting our Scouting program, some of the recognition gifts for specific donations include the following:

  • $125 gift, you'll receive the 2018 FOS limited-edition Council Shoulder Patch (CSP)
  • $240 gift, you'll receive the 2018 FOS Challenge Coin & CSP
  • $600 gift, you'll receive the 2018 FOS Belt Buckle, challenge coin & CSP
  • $1,200 gift, you'll receive the 2018 Nike V-neck windshirt, belt buckle, challenge coin & CSP
