With the Boy Scouts of America Discover credit card, Scouting is more rewarding than ever! Specifically designed for the adult members of Scouting families, the Boy Scouts of America Discover credit card rewards you on everyday purchases, while the Boy Scouts of America receives a percentage of those purchases to support Scouting.
Also, by visiting the Scout Rewards section at www.scoutingrewards.com , cardholders can donate their points to Scouting. The points will be shared equally among local councils and the National Council.
Additionally, for adult Scouting alumni, the BSA Discover credit card is a perfect opportunity to show their Scouting pride while paving the way for future Scouts. Along with the increased funding to local councils, this is an excellent way to affect the Scouting organization in positive and far-reaching ways. In many ways, Scouting is unique among the charities and other youth organizations of the world. In at least one way, however, Scouting is no different from others: If it is to grow and serve more youth and more communities each year, it must find a way to financially support its long-term mission.
Gifts to the Foundation may take many forms and are detailed in the Foundation's Gift Acceptance and Policy Guidelines. Acceptable gifts include the following:
- Stock/bonds/marketable securities
- Mutual fund/retirement plan designations
- Real estate (without mortgages or liens)
- Tangible personal property
- Life insurance
- Oil and gas royalties
- Other assets (upon approval of Foundation board)
Company Matching Gifts
Many corporations match employee contributions made to the Boy Scouts. Some companies even make financial contributions for volunteering time to Scouting. Check with your company to see if they participate in a matching gifts program.
Companies with Volunteer Grants
Volunteer time is money with volunteer grants
Some local companies recognize volunteer time through the donation of cash grants to non-profits in which their employees volunteer. This means that for each hour of volunteer time, employers donate funds to support the Black Swamp Area Council, Boy Scouts of America.
Gift in Kind Opportunities
A Gift In Kind consists of an item that is donated to the Black Swamp Area Council. Items can include paper, food for camp, gas cards for fuel of camp vehicles and much more.
