WHAT'S HOT?

Popcorn

Scouts, we are closing upon the end of the popcorn sale. If you have not stopped in to the council service center to see many of the popcorn prizes, STOP IN! Also be sure to fill up your order forms.  Each order form you fill up and send to your District Popcorn Kernel will be a chance to win a tablet! Your popcorn kernels will be collecting your final order shortly.

Recharter

Starting November 1st, key unit members will have access to begin the online recharter process. It is important to note that this year will be an 11-month charter since the council will be moving to a December 31 recharter date. That means renewal fees will be $2/month for registration fees and $1/month for Boys' Life magazine for a total of $22 per person for registration fees and $11 per person for Boys' Life magazine renewal. This will get us on a calendar year recharter for 2017.

Cubmasters, Scoutmasters and Committee Chairs: check your email over the next few weeks for instructions and identification numbers to begin your recharter. Contact your district commissioner if you have any questions or if this is your first time helping with your unit's recharter.

CHINQUAPIN

Chinquapin Minute

It’s my pleasure to be working with all fellow Chinquapin members. We are in an exciting time of the year. Filled with leaves, cool temperatures and of course popcorn, program, and upcoming recharter. It is with deep regret that I am announcing Levi Keller will be leaving the Black Swamp Area Council effective October 15th. Levi has decided to return to his passion of education. Please join us as we wish him well in all of his future endeavors. We look forward to seeing him down the scouting trail in his continued volunteer roles.

Colin Earl will be covering this district in the interim. Please contact him at colin.earl@scouting.org or 419-701-4911 for all relevant scouting business.
